Gabriel and Getchiyal’s Story

Getchiyal was born to a family that was desperately poor. She was brought to Sanctuary Home after her sister starved to death and Getchiyal faced the possibility of being trafficked as her only chance to survive. Gabriel became part of Sanctuary Home when he was only three years old after being abandoned on the streets. 

Both grew up at Sanctuary Home and have since graduated college, Getchiyal with a degree in education and Gabriel with a degree in electrical engineering. After college graduation, Gabriel and Getchiyal were married, and are now operating a successful business together. Recently, they welcomed their first child.
